Introduction: The study compared the effectiveness of opioids: butorphanol, fentanyl and nalbuphine as a part Total Intra Venous Anaesthesia (TIVA) using propofol an inducing agent in all three groups laparoscopic cholecystectomy view haemodynamic stability, analgesia recovery characteristics. Aims: To compare efficacy opioids viz. TIVA Haemodynamics variables, Material Methods: This randomised prospective was conducted ninety patients ASA grade I either sex, age group 20- 60 yrs weighing 30- 70 kg undergoing cholecystectomy. Patients received 25 μg/kg inj. butorphanol intravenously, II 2 intravenously III 0.3 mg/kg just before induction anaesthesia. Induction carried out exclusively with IV agents vecuronium bromide 100μg/kg intravenously. maintained infusion according to Bristol regimen intermittent top-up doses muscle relaxant. Comparative evaluation of halothane anaesthesia in medetomidine-butorphanol and midazolam-butorphanol premedicated water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis).

Six clinically healthy male water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) 2-3 years of age and weighing 290-325 kg were used for 2 different treatments (H1 and H2). The animals of group H1 were premedicated with medetomidine (2.5 g/kg,i.v.) and butorphanol (0.05 mg/kg, i.v.), while in group H2 midazolam (0.25 mg/kg) and butorphanol (0.05 mg/kg) were used intravenously. Induction of anaesthesia was achieved...
